1. What is Careprost Plus used for?

Careprost Plus is an ophthalmic solution used to lower high intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It combines two active ingredients: Bimatoprost and Timolol.

2. How does Careprost Plus work?

Bimatoprost increases the outflow of fluid from the eye, while Timolol decreases the production of fluid. Together, they effectively reduce eye pressure to prevent optic nerve damage.

3. How should I use Careprost Plus Eye Drops?

1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
2. Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid.
3. Instill 1 drop once daily in the affected eye(s), usually in the evening.
4. Close your eyes for 1–2 minutes and press the inner corner of the eye to reduce absorption.

Use only as prescribed by your ophthalmologist.

4. What are the active ingredients in Careprost Plus?

Careprost Plus contains:

• Bimatoprost 0.03% – a prostaglandin analog
• Timolol Maleate 0.5% – a beta-blocker

This dual-action formula offers better IOP control than monotherapy in many patients.

5. What are the side effects of Careprost Plus?

6. Is Careprost Plus the same as regular Careprost?

No. While both contain Bimatoprost, Careprost Plus also contains Timolol. It is used when monotherapy does not sufficiently control eye pressure. Regular Careprost is Bimatoprost-only and may be used for both glaucoma and eyelash growth.

7. Can I use Careprost Plus for eyelash growth?

No. Careprost Plus is not recommended for cosmetic use. The added Timolol is not intended for use on the skin and may cause adverse effects. Use regular Careprost or FDA-approved Latisse for eyelash enhancement.

8. Can I use Careprost Plus with contact lenses?

Remove contact lenses before applying the drops. Wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them to avoid lens discoloration or irritation from preservatives.

9. Is Careprost Plus safe during pregnancy?

Careprost Plus is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless deemed absolutely necessary by a doctor. Always consult your healthcare provider before use.
